5 Tips for Winter Sinus Health

sinus-healthWe often think of sinus problems being at their worst in the spring and summer months, but did you know that winter can also be a difficult time for sinus sufferers? Winter brings cold temperatures and damp weather, illnesses such as colds and the flu, more time spent indoors around dry air and potential allergens such as dust, pet dander, smoke, scented candles, as well as mold on Christmas decorations, and holiday festivities that often include the overindulgence of sugar and alcohol. All of these factors can lower your immunity and cause inflammation of your nasal passages and create a breeding ground for bacterial infections.

sneezeI am passing on another recommendation from Dr. Rob Ivker, author of Sinus Survival. He believes this product, called AllerDx, is a must-have for allergy sufferers. AllerDx is a Chinese herbal formula that has a multi-targeted approach to promote respiratory health and calm your overactive immune response; it can help stop allergy symptoms fast, providing immediate relief.

AllerDx was developed from years of clinical experience and shown to be safe and effective in scientific studies. It is an all-natural formula, manufactured under stringent controls to ensure quality and safety. It has been shown to:

Top Two Secret Weapons for Natural Allergy Support

pollenIt’s that time of year again – the dreaded allergy season. You know, where your head hurts, you can’t think, your eyes and ears itch, your nose runs, you sneeze, you feel drugged and you just want to close your eyes. But, what if you were equipped with two secret weapons that could stop your allergy tsunami? Dr. Rob Ivker, author of Sinus Survival, recommends two powerful products for natural allergy support that can halt symptoms in their tracks.

1. Dr. Jacques Masquelier’s formulation of grape seed extract: Pathway Grape Seed Extract or Grape Gold Grape Seed Extract

Grape seed extract exhibits a very high content of Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins (OPC’s). OPCs are bioflavonoid complexes that act as free radical scavengers in the body. Children’s Series: Allergies

allergiesAllergies can be annoying, to say the least. But in some cases, they can also be debilitating and even deadly. And even more so in children.

Allergies are hypersensitivity reactions to normally harmless substances. In allergic rhinitis, the immune system releases histamines and other chemicals to fight the “allergen.” As a result, swelling (inflammation) and congestion of the nasal passages and increased mucus production occurs. Allergies can cause a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, but commonly children experience stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, itchy skin and eyes. Allergies can be seasonal or chronic, depending on the allergen. And the allergen can be anything from peanuts to mold to feathers. As children age, they can “outgrow” their allergies as their immune system matures.

Here are five tips help with decreasing symptoms associated with allergies.

1. Supplement. Nutrients such as bioflavonoids, calcium, magnesium, carotenoids, essential fatty acids, selenium, B vitamins, and vitamin C work to help with inflammation, reduce allergic symptoms, soothe irritated mucous membranes, and support immune function.
