EWG Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen: 2018

fruit_brighterThe Environmental Working Group (EWG) has put out its 2018 report of the most pesticide ridden produce on the market, the Dirty Dozen™. They also have a Clean Fifteen™ list with fruits and vegetables considered to contain the least amounts of pesticide residue.

Strawberries nabbed the top spot on the Dirty Dozen list, for the third year in a row. USDA tests found that strawberries are the fresh produce most likely to be contaminated with pesticide residues, even after they are picked, rinsed in the field and washed before eating. 5 Ways to Reduce Your Toxin Load

clean-foodThere is something about spring that often makes people want to detox. Perhaps it’s the desire to reboot or recharge after a long, sluggish winter. While doing a detox can feel like a fresh start, we don’t need a particular time of year to help our bodies clear toxins. EWG’s 2017 Guide to Sunscreens

sunblockThis is the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) 11th annual guide to sunscreens, to help you choose safe and effective sun protection for you and your loved ones. Products that are rated 3 to 6 (yellow) have moderate hazards to health, and from 7 to 10 (red) are considered high hazards to health.

Since starting the guide in 2007, there has been good progress. Continue reading “EWG’s 2017 Guide to Sunscreens”

They also have a Clean Fifteen™ list with fruits and vegetables considered to contain the least amount of pesticide residue.

This year, strawberries claimed the top spot on the Dirty Dozen list, for the second year in a row.
