Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue and How to Repair It

If it seems you need more caffeine and sugar to get you through the day…

If you’re noticing some weight gain, particularly around your mid section…

If you’re getting sick more often and it takes longer to recover…

If you don’t feel as sharp, clear and focused as you usually do…

If you’re losing your sex drive….

If it seems you’re growing more impatient…

If you’re noticing changes in your hair, skin, nails and overall sense of well being…

It could be adrenal fatigue.

Adrenal fatigue is one of the most common, yet most undiagnosed, conditions impacting so many people today. It’s important to recognize the warning signs so you can take proactive steps toward healing, repairing, and hopefully preventing a long list of potential chronic illnesses that often come as a result of lack of treatment. Are You Getting Enough Fiber?

With Village Green Apothecary’s Big Summer Sale ending at the end of the week, I thought it would be a good time to remind you that Pathway products are 30% off their regular prices. The Pathway brand is a quality line that offers a variety of supplements at great prices. It also is 100% guaranteed, which means if for whatever reason you are not satisfied, you can return the product to the store.

One supplement that I feel most people could benefit from is fiber. Most people do not consume the recommended 35 to 40 grams of fiber per day. An easy way to attain this is to supplement with a fiber product like Pathway ClearFiber. This is a powder than can be mixed with almost any beverage. It is odorless, colorless and it does not thicken the liquid you add it to.

Fiber helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels, increases satiety, maintains healthy bowel movements, cleans out your GI tract and so much more. Good sources of fiber are fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes. Adding ClearFiber can help you get the fiber your body needs in the easiest way possible. My 5 “Must Haves” for Weekend Getaways

Once the warm weather starts, my husband and I pack up the kids and head to our little sanctuary up north. There is bound to be something left behind with the numerous trips we make, but I always make sure that these five items are in my purse or diaper bag before the car rolls of out of the driveway.

1. Sunscreen: I have talked about this many times, but Badger Unscented SPF 30 sunscreen is the best sunscreen for my kids. It is a bit thick, since zinc oxide is the main ingredient, but the protection it provides is worth it. Even my little girl, who inherited by husbands’s English/Irish complexion, stays burn-free with this product. Since we are outdoors most of the time, this is a must!

2. Insect repellent: Did I mention that the mosquito is the area’s national animal?! Wearing light-colored clothing and covering as much possible helps, but we also spray Quantum Buzzaway Insect Repellent to help keep these pesky insects away. Made with essential oils, it is even safe to use on my 1-year-old. Continue reading “My 5 “Must Haves” for Weekend Getaways”

Nutrient Power: Rebalancing Biochemistry to Address Health Issues

In his fascinating new book, Nutrient Power, Dr. William Walsh focuses on brain health and the importance of nutrients to rebalance brain chemistry. The main foundation of the book is focusing on an individual’s unique needs and then formulating a personalized compound, or recommending specific nutrients based on those needs.

Dr. Walsh summarizes his book:

“I’m pleased to announce that my new book Nutrient Power (Skyhorse Publishing, Inc.) has been completed. The book won’t be released to Amazon and bookstores until September, but early copies are now available at Village Green Apothecary (call 1-800-869-9159 to order) and through Walsh Research Institute. The book presents a science-based nutrient therapy system that can help millions of patients throughout the world. The text is aimed at doctors, researchers, and families challenged by depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism, and other brain disorders. This approach recognizes that nutrient imbalances can alter brain levels of key neurotransmitters, disrupt gene expression of proteins and enzymes, and cripple the body’s protection against environmental toxins. The book demonstrates that depression, schizophrenia, and ADHD are umbrella terms that encompass disorders with widely-differing brain chemistries and symptoms. Nutrient therapies tailored for five depression biotypes, three schizophrenia biotypes, and various ADHD conditions are presented along with several case histories. Kick the Summer Cold

Who gets colds in the summer? I do! And it’s awful. I want to be enjoying the beautiful weather, swimming in the pool or heading to our cottage on the lake, but instead I am nursing a runny nose, sinus headache, and coughing fits.

It all started with too much to do, not getting enough sleep, and therefore not taking care of myself like I should have been doing. With a lowered immune system, the cold virus just took hold.

But not for long. I took Pathway Cold and Sinus Blaster, along with plenty of vitamin C and before you knew it, I was back to my old self. Pathway Cold and Sinus Blaster is a unique product that supports the immune system with herbs like horseradish, echinacea, elderberry, garlic, peppermint oil, and goldenseal.

Pick some up while it’s on sale. It is a handy supplement to have on hand for those colds that sneak up on you.
