New research published in the Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology (CJPP) has found an 84% reduction in developing precancerous lesions and tumors when rats were fed a high fat, low fiber diet, with the addition of a multivitamin and mineral supplement. Six groups were fed the low fiber, high fat diet and given different combinations of supplements and carcinogens that mimicked human colon cancer. The conclusion was that regular supplements of multivitamins and minerals could reduce the risk of colon cancer.
