How to Make Grilling Healthier

grillingAs you get ready to fire up your grill for the July 4th holiday, I want to share with you some tips to make your grilling healthier, as well as more flavorful. New Study: Vitamin D Can Help Fight Treatment Resistant Cancer

research labChemotherapy is the most used treatment method to help fight cancer. This is because it is one of the most effective treatments. However, sometimes chemo doesn’t work. This is mainly because the tumors that develop once chemotherapy has begun start to develop resistance against anticancer drugs, making chemotherapy less effective. antacidsAnother study has linked commonly prescribed heartburn drugs to fatal health conditions. This isn’t the first time that research has shown that these drugs have serious side effects. Also linked to liver disease and kidney disease, it may be time to reconsider popping those antacids and looking for an alternative. The class of drugs that were looked at is called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). These are commonly prescribed to treat gastrointestinal conditions that involve an excess of acid production. Nexium, Aciphex, Zegerid, Dexilant, Prevacid, Prilosec, and Protonix are only some of the brand names that PPIs have taken over the years. Products that are rated 3 to 6 (yellow) have moderate hazards to health, and from 7 to 10 (red) are considered high hazards to health.

This guide comes at around the same time that a study published in JAMA found that certain chemicals in most sunscreen products pose cancer risks. The study took blood test samples from participants after using sunscreens for 4 days. Continue reading “EWG Releases 2019 Guide to Sunscreens”
