Women are more likely to be low in iron during their reproductive years, but don’t rule out the troubles of a deficiency if you are older or of the opposite sex. Iron deficiency can affect men or women of any age.

Iron is required to produce hemoglobin in our red blood cells. Red blood cells, via hemoglobin, carry oxygen through your cells to every part of your body and organ systems. Insomnia Linked to Heart Attacks

sleeping4People who have trouble sleeping may be at greater risk of heart attacks and stroke. According to a new Chinese study published in the journal Neurology, people who struggled to fall asleep, woke up too early, or struggled to focus during the day because of lack of sleep, were 18% more likely to suffer from a heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular disease. The link between insomnia symptoms and these diseases was even stronger in younger adults and people who did not have high blood pressure at the start of the study, so future research should look especially at early detection and interventions aimed at these groups.
