How to Whiten Teeth Naturally

teeth-whiteA great smile is the first thing that people notice. For many, whiter teeth make them feel more confident and they smile more often. Lifestyle habits also play a role in the whiteness of your your teeth.

Here are some tips to whiten teeth naturally, for a brighter smile:

Drinking coffee, tea and red wine, and eating dark berries and chocolate can stain the teeth, and those stains build up over time. Even drinking milk can lead to an increase in tartar production that causes yellowing. Limit the number of cups of tea and coffee you drink, and swap the red wine for a glass of white. Or brush your teeth after eating or drinking, or rinse your mouth with water. Continue reading “How to Whiten Teeth Naturally”

Village Green Demo: Evanhealy Skin Care

evanhealyVisit Village Green Apothecary this Friday, July 31, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm to learn more about this radically simple skin care line, Evanhealy.

Evanhealy skin care was founded in 1999 by Evan Healy, a holistic beauty expert who created and developed her line of lovely, healthy products based on years of experience as a holistic aesthetician, and her refusal to use products that contained petrochemicals, exfoliating acids, ‘fake’ natural, or toxic, synthetic ingredients.

Evan’s products are handmade with 100% natural and organically sourced ingredients and feature labor-intensive, artisan distilled (in copper) hydrosols sourced both locally and globally from small family farms. Organic herbs and flower infusions are sourced from small, family-owned gardens and use wild crafted or organic, and/or sustainable fruit, seed and berry oils, essential oils (not solvent-extracted isolates) and rhythmically infused botanicals. New Skin Care Products at Village Green Apothecary

hugo-naturals_valley-greenIt is always exciting to get new lines into the store. Recently we have brought in some lovely skin care products from Hugo Naturals and Valley Green Naturals.

Hugo Naturals started out from handcrafted soaps that were made with all-natural ingredients and sold at local farmers’ markets. They feel that what you put on your body is equally as important as what you put in your body. Made in the USA, their products are free of petrochemicals, animal fats, parabens, silicones, formaldehyde, hydroquinone, phthalates, propylene glycol, and synthetic surfactants. And they are never tested on animals, are gluten free, and made from sustainable sources that are pure and natural.

Village Green has brought in bar soaps, liquid soaps and lotions, scented with pure essential oils and plant essences that delight the senses, moisturize, and add protection from the environment while feeling as rich and indulgent as spa treatments.

Valley Green Naturals is a small company out of Northern Virginia that started in a farmhouse kitchen with natural soap recipes using garden- and locally-sourced botanicals and honey. They were a huge hit at local farmers’ markets. Continue reading “New Skin Care Products at Village Green Apothecary”
