For small businesses like Village Green Apothecary, Small Business Saturday is aimed at encouraging holiday shoppers to patronize small and/or local businesses.

Small businesses make up more than 99% of all businesses in the U.S. and employ 47.5% of the country’s workers. In fact, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community. Helping Patients Get Healthy with Nutrition

doctor patient2It is only right that doctors understand the causes of their patients’ illnesses and have the knowledge to help them get well. Doctors want to help their patients get healthy by discussing nutrition with them, but many feel unprepared to do so, according to a new poll of DC doctors. The poll found that 73% of doctors feel that patient visits should include nutrition guidance, but only 15% feel “totally prepared” to offer it.
