Hello all! It is wonderful to be joining the Village Green blog team! For over 15 years, I have been helping individuals create healthy living spaces. You may be asking what that means. It is my mission to help physicians and homeowners understand the importance that our environments play in our health. In my opinion, three things matter most to wellness; what you put into your body, your environmental exposures, and your genetics.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with top physicians and individual clients to solve health-related complaints that stem from environmental issues. It is amazing how many health complaints come from our exposures to things like mold, dander, pets, VOCs (chemicals), and other things. It is even more satisfying to watch health improve when we diagnosis and correct problems in our living conditions.
My goal with this blog is to help give you some ways that may improve your health. By simply making changes to how we live in our homes, we can help create healthier living spaces and improve wellness. I ask for the next time we meet at this blog, that you take a moment to look around your home. If you can answer yes to any of the following questions, please stay tuned to this blog:
• Are you storing clutter?
• Do you have any plumbing leaks, or do you see any mold growth in your home?
• Do you have pets?
• Has your water been tested?
• Do you have your HVAC system serviced every year?
• Do you have carpet?
• Are you doing construction?
• Do you have an attached garage?
• Do you store personal care products in your home?
If you answered yes, to any of these questions, we need to talk! I hope to offer some useful tips that will help you better understand the importance of a healthy home. Do a quick assessment and look at your home. There are a multitude of things in a home that require maintenance, repair and upkeep and if you are not doing these, you expose your family and yourself to potential health effects. It is my job to help you start a new chapter in wellness, by creating a healthier living space, that in turn will create a healthier YOU!
