A review of 40 studies has found that eating an apple a day can lower the risk of developing five different cancers.
Scientists found people who ate at least one apple a day were much less likely to get lung, bowel, mouth, digestive tract or breast tumors than people who rarely or never eat the popular fruit. The biggest benefits were seen in cancers of the stomach and esophagus, where the risk of tumor development was almost cut in half.
