L-Glutamine  is the most abundant amino acid in the human body, where it functions as a major fuel source. Glutamine also is important for the health of the intestinal wall, protecting against bacterial translocation and promoting healing. Glutamine is stored in muscle tissue in order to meet the needs of other body tissues and inhibits muscle atrophy induced by stress hormones.

N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine (NAG) is a major component of mucopolysaccharides and as such is a key component in connective tissue. The gut and gastric epithelium (especially the glycocalyx) contain high concentrations of mucopolysaccharides, which help provide structural integrity in the intestinal wall. NAG has been shown to accelerate wound healing.

Aloe Vera extract contains polysaccharides and other substances that stimulate tissue growth and repair processes, reduce inflammation, inhibit pathogens, and strengthen immune function. Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS) enhance the growth of healthy bacteria that are necessary for digestive processes.
