Pathway Biotin

There is only week left to take advantage of Village Green Apothecary’s sale on Pathway products, including Pathway Biotin.

Biotin is a water soluble, sulphur-containing member of the B complex. Biotin is most well known for its promotion of healthy hair and skin. Essential to human nutrition, it is also involved in the biosynthesis of fatty acids, energy production and metabolism. Deficiencies may occur with excessive consumption of alcohol, refined foods and raw egg whites. Raw egg whites contain a protein called avidin which inhibits biotin absorption.

Here are three reasons to take biotin:

1.Skin, Hair and Nails: Studies have shown that taking supplemental biotin may increase the strength and thickness of fingernails.

2. Diabetes: Biotin deficiency results in impaired utilization of glucose. Supplementing with biotin has been shown to support healthy blood glucose levels.

3. Elevated Triglycerides: Clinical studies have shown that biotin can significantly lower elevated triglycerides and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL).

Get Healthy Hair, Naturally

The most commonly heard complaint and question we get from Ask the Expert, probably has to do with hair health. Natural remedies may also be able to help improve and restore hair’s youthful appearance.

Fenugreek:  This herb has a unique blend of chemical constituents which can contribute to healthy-looking hair and a nourished scalp. Fenugreek has proteins needed for hair strength.

Biotin:  Biotin is an important coenzyme that is involved in a number of processes in the body. It is a member of the B-vitamin family and an essential nutrient in human nutrition. Biotin has been widely used for nutritional support of healthy skin, hair and nails; deficiencies have been linked to brittle nails and hair loss. All of the B vitamins work together and are Continue reading “Get Healthy Hair, Naturally”

If you have dry hair, use a conditioner—and leave it on for 3-5 minutes, so you get the benefits. There are organic formulas targeted for all hair types; I test all the safe, new ones that come to my attention. Continue reading “Best Organic Shampoo”
