I got my first cold last week, no thanks to my little guy, who probably picked it up from one his little friends. This is how it starts – you catch a bug from your kids, who picked it up at daycare or at school, and then you pass it along to your co-workers…and a vicious cycle of sneezing and runny noses starts.
There is little that you can do about what your child does at school or daycare, but there are things you can do at home to build your immune system and protect the spread of these viruses. Every week I have been posting about ways to support your immune system with herbs and supplements, but there are other things that you need to consider as well. At Village Green Apothecary, we have made a Cold and Flu Tips sheet to give you the tools that you need to stay healthy this season. I suggest you share this with family, friends and co-workers. Take note of the most important rule: WASH YOUR HANDS! This is the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs and other bugs.
Do you have any tips for fighting colds and flus?
