The most important thing you can do for your health is to be an informed patient. This is especially true in the face of a scary medical diagnosis. While more and more practitioners are becoming well versed in new techniques and integrative medical treatments, many are still quite conservative and unaware (ignorant) of the major impact nutrition can have on one’s health. Therefore, I highly recommend that you do your own research and find the best practitioners to guide you on your health journey.
Fortunately, there are so many great resources at your fingertips (books, blogs, websites, magazines, newsletters, radio programs, etc.). Village Green is passionate about educating the public about healthy living. And, for the past 3 years, we have had a weekly radio show that covers a wide range of health topics. I recently listened to an outstanding show that I want to share with you. It was hosted by nutritionist Dana Laake, RDH, MS, LDN with special guest medical nutritionist, Victoria Wood, MPH, RD, CNS. They covered the topic of Nutritional Support for Cancer Patients. Not only was the show so informative about cancer risks, prevention, the latest research, important medical testing, and critical nutrients, it’s just such a great example of two cutting edge nutritionists talking about taking care of your health. I highly recommend listing to their show. It is fantastic!
