This formula was designed to support nerve, muscle, bone and heart health and promote relaxation of mind and body to help you get a restful night’s sleep. It is made from a patented mineral glycinate chelated form that promotes optimum absorption. To learn more about this patented chelated process called Traacs, click here.

Chelation is the result of minerals becoming chemically bound to amino acids in a very specific manner. Chelation occurs during the digestive process to facilitate transport of minerals across the intestinal wall so that they can be utilized throughout the body. Amino acids are not the only “chelators” available, but they are ideal for minerals. The body is very efficient at absorbing individual amino acids, and the amino acid glycine is the preferred molecule for creating organic chelated minerals. Glycine is readily identified and absorbed across the intestinal wall.

So why do we need magnesium?

It is responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body and impacts blood pressure, metabolism, immune function and many other aspects of health. Unfortunately, it is estimated that as many as 80% of Americans are deficient in magnesium.

How do you know if you are deficient? There are some simple blood tests that your healthcare practitioner can use to determine magnesium deficiency. The following are common reasons for magnesium deficiency:

• Potassium-depleting prescription diuretics
• Too many laxatives
• Antacid medications (proton pump inhibitors)
• imbalanced calcium:magnesium ratio (aim for 1:1)
• Diabetes
• Heart failure
• Alcoholism
• Chronic diarrhea
• Pancreatitis
• Conditions associated with malabsorption, such as Crohn’s disease

Studies have shown magnesium is beneficial for the treatment of:

• Irregular heartbeat
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Type 2 diabetes
• Certain forms of hearing loss
• Leg cramps/muscle spasms
• Complications following a heart attack
• High blood pressure
• Anxiety and sleeplessness
• Constipation
