Dessert Tonight: Chocolate Hazelnut Avocado Pudding
Paula Gallagher on
Valentine's Day is definitely an indulgent holiday, especially when it comes to chocolate. And although most chocolate is high in fat, sugar and not-so-natural ingredients, good dark chocolate has many positive things going for it. Benefits include a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, reduced stress, and even improved memory. This dessert is delicious and perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner. It combines hazelnut butter, avocados and dark chocolate for a creamy, rich dessert, which is actually good for you.
Since Valentine's Day is all about the heart, you should know that eating dark chocolate has been associated with improved cardiovascular health. According to research published in the journal Heart, subjects who who consumed up to 100 grams of chocolate per day had an 11% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 25% lower risk of associated death than those people who ate no chocolate. So do something nice for yourself and make this heart healthy recipe!
